Christopher Georgakis


Christopher Georgakis is the Managing Partner at Argetes Capital and leverages over thirty years of shipping and finance experience, seven of which have been dedicated to advising clients on strategic planning, growth capital and private equity joint ventures. He was previously CEO of a two publicly traded shipping companies (NYSE:EXM, AMEX:OKN), he co-managed a US$2.2 billion M&A shipping transaction in the dry bulk space, raised in excess of US$ 350 million in equity capital and acted for clients in numerous transactions ranging from start-ups to buy-outs and private equity joint ventures. Christopher maintains extensive and close relationships in the shipping community and is responsible for deal origination and execution. After years of involvement in finance advisory work, Christopher has developed a unique perspective on the industry and guides clients accurately and candidly.

Marios Theofanopoulos


Marios Theofanopoulos is an associate with Argetes Capital and carries over 15 years of investment valuation and corporate finance experience. He has served as CFO of a Greek shipping group with a wide range of responsibilities spanning treasury and banking, portfolio management and investment valuation. He has also extensive advisory experience with a leading office in Greece providing corporate finance advisory work in mergers and acquisitions, capital structure considerations, buybacks / dividends, fairness opinions, restructurings as well as research focused on public companies and industry statistics. He holds an MSc in Finance and Investment from the University of Durham, UK, and a BSc in Economics from the University of Macedonia, Greece. Marios is a CFA Charterholder.
